Three of the five members of the Wicker Lee Band originated from another once popular band but then, we were FIRED! Some people think we were fired because we weren’t loud enough when we played at regular sized clubs. Others think it’s because we didn’t drink enough. For reasons that cannot be legally submitted, the strong nucleus of the band decided to grow forward, and we have never looked back. Now, under the Witness Protection Plan, the Wicker Lee Band consists of veterans of the band scene providing dance/party music from the 50’s to today throughout the Washington DC/Metro area. With strong vocals and harmonies, and a variety of music from rock n’ roll to Motown, blues, country, ELVIS and classic rock, the Wicker Lee Band provides something for almost every musical taste. FUNDRAISERS! The Wicker Lee Band is open to assisting you with your ideas for a fundraiser. We always try to give back to the folks who have followed us and have supported us. In return, if you have a “cause” that you want to raise money for, please contact us. We may be able to help you with live music and also possibly a place where you can have the fundraiser.

Veteran’s Appreciation Day, October 6, 2007, at Walter Reed
The band had a dream to be in service to our Wounded Warriors, and through CherryRoad Technologies (they manage the AKO portal), the band was able to play for the wounded veterans at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC. CherryRoad Technologies funded a cookout to serve over 150 veterans and gave away door prizes to the people that attended. It was a hot afternoon for October, and the band had to set up in the direct sunlight. However, they realized that their sweating was nothing compared to the pain, suffering and rehabilitation these wounded warriors were going through. Later that afternoon, bike riders from all military divisions came into Walter Reed to also greet our wounded warriors, and we continued to provide entertainment and food for these people. It was an event that will stay in our minds forever as we talked to the people staying at Walter Reed and listened to their stories of bravery and the motivation to move on with their lives.
